Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until smooth.
- Divide the batter into liners and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- For the buttercream, beat butter until creamy, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Color as desired.
- Decorate cooled cupcakes with the frosting.
